This summer, with my bro Frank Nelson (Bass player), we recorded our brand new CD with 6 beautiful songs at the A’Dar studio in Bourgogne (France). We still have to produce the CDs and a release party in Paris with my musicians.
For now, I paid for the production myself but we want to go further with this project, and to do so we have to find new financial ways to make it more professional.

So, first, we need « a little help from our friends » as the song say, to launch the project. That’s why we’re asking for YOUR help!

To give you an idea of how the CD will sound like, you can listen to « TRIP », the first finalized song.

This song clearly shows the musical orientation of the CD. It’s a song in English but most of the project is in French… maybe because it’s my native language ;)

My inspirations come from the classic American folk songs with a “fretless bass” that gives a sort of second voice to the project. You’ll find the classic acoustic guitars in folk style, here enhanced by the banjo. The rhythm is simple and adds a POP aspect to this song, especially on the chorus of this song.

Finally this CD is made of 4 French songs and 2 English songs.

Here is a general description of the project:

Inspired by his feelings about our society, our social behavior, troubles of our time and his global feeling Sébastien Kunz writes his songs.

Author, composer and interpreter, his music is inspired by American songwriters. Folk music is also an influence because of the evocation of landscapes and big spaces.

Frank Nelson’s add his fretless Bass melodies to the folk guitars to create a sort of second « voice » enhancing the melody.

Nathalie Réaux worked with Sébastien on the artistic direction to finally reveal the final CD with 6 beautiful songs in a « Folk » style.

The texts, some written in French and others in English, use poetry to lighten the purpose of heavy issues.

Project history:

This project began in 2011. After 5 years of small concerts in the Parisian bars, with a swing « chanson française » style duet, I decided to write new songs for a new project oriented in a folk / rock style. The 3 years that follow this decision were used to define closely the final style of the project by meeting some musicians, writing new songs, experimenting solo concerts on stage.

2 main points ended to define the musical orientation in 2015:
First point: I worked with Frank Nelson on a duo version of the songs. We both liked what the fretless bass parts added to the musical style.
Second point: I met Nathalie Réaux, singer, composer and musical coach, that helped me to re-orient the project to the « classic Folk » type of music. In addition, she is my vocal coach.

Today, we’re ready to launch the project:
- 2 other musicians are added to the lineup.
- We’re working on the music set to be ready to play it on stage at the beginning of 2016 when the CDs will be produced.
And here is the purpose of this crowdfunding: to start writing the next pages of our adventure!
